Nagoya
Nagoya Castle
Built in 1612. The best-known items associated with the Nagoya Castle are the golden dolphins, or Kinshachi. It is said that the first dolphins (shachi) to adorn the main ridge of castle roofs.
Toyota Automobile Museum
The Toyota Automobile Museum was opened in 1989 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Toyota Motor Corporation. The main exhibits are about 140 vehicles from around the world.
Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium
Located about 1 hour from Portmesse Nagoya. Various events such as performance of dolphins are features of the aquarium.
Atsuta Jingu
Atsuta Jingu was originally founded about 1900 years ago, when the sacred sword Kusanagi-no-tsurugi, one of the Imperial symbols, was enshrined.
Gero Hot Spring
Gero Hot Spring is considered one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan. Enjoy a stroll through the center of the hot spring town and soak in the foot baths scattered all around.
Nagashima Spa Land
Major amusement park in Mie Prefecture (next to Aichi prefecture). It features several roller coasters, thrill rides, kid rides, a water park, a flower park, etc.
Osaka
Osaka is the biggest city in Western Japan and known for many sightseeing/leisure spots such as Osaka Castle, Universal Studios Japan, etc. and for delicious food. 1 hour from Nagoya Sta. (via Shinkansen Nozomi (bullet train)).
Kyoto
Kyoto - widely known as the old capital of Japan, a beautiful historic city with 17 world heritages. 35 min. from Nagoya Sta. (via Shinkansen Nozomi (bullet train)).
Kobe
Kobe is a capital city of Hyogo Prefecture and is a beautiful city with many must-visit spots such as a waterfront area, a China street, the Rokko Mountain, etc. 1 hour from Nagoya Sta. (via Shinkansen Nozomi (bullet train)).
